Its height reduces the constant pressure on the wrist (carpals) where the base of the wrist rests against the mousing surfaces. The rubberized, concave thumb area increases mouse control and is designed to support undersized and over-sized hands and fingers. There is both a right hand and a left hand version to choose from.
